Scientific Diver Conference, Institute of Tourism Studies - Gozo

Technical Week went underway supported by the Institute of Tourism Studies – Gozo, Malta from June 21st through June 24th. During the final day of the presentations, the University of Calabria and Divers Alert Network (DAN) Europe supported the presentation of topics surrounding the professional, legal, and training aspects of scientific diving endeavors within Europe. In addition, the role of Citizen Science with regards to diving was also highlighted in order to include these divers within the considerations of harmonization of scientific diving. From the ScienceDIVER team, Fabio Bruno o the University of Calabria presented the aspects of the ScienceDIVER project to the audience of stakeholders in the scientific diving community.

Keynote Speakers included Alessandro Marroni of DAN Europe; Pierre Fenech, CEO of ITS; Fabio Bruno of University of Calabria; Mark Caney of PADI Worldwide; and Alain Deidun of University of Malta.
